THE LOCATION

Located in the far northeastern area of Albany County, Wyoming, within the boundaries of the Medicine Bow National Forest, this outstanding hunting property is a hunter’s paradise.

County roads (713, 721, 610, 61, 619) lead into this area from all directions, thus providing excellent access.  County Road 710 (Esterbrook Road), traverses through the far southestern part of the property.

ABOUT THE PROPERTY

1,080± ACRES DEEDED, 40± ACRES US FOREST SERVICE LEASE, 80± ACRES BLM LEASE FOR A TOTAL OF 1,200 ACRES.  Located in rolling foothill-mountain country, the topography of the ranch consists of rugged rock formations covered with pine, aspen and cedar trees that surround open mountain meadows and provide the perfect habitat and natural cover for large herds of elk and mule deer.  Natural springs can be found throughout the property and a large reservoir is stocked with trout.
 

The elevation of the property ranges from 7,400 feet to 7,900 feet above sea level.  Annual precipitation, according to the Natural Resource Conservation Service 30-year average, is 18 inches.
 

Vegetation consists of dense stands of aspen trees, various species of pine trees, cedar trees, sagebrush and numerous pockets of grassy meadows and parks.

WILDLIFE AND NATURAL RESOURCES

An abundance of natural cover for shelter, plenty of water sources,  ideal forage and unspoiled wide open spaces combine to make Elk Haven Mountain Ranch the perfect habitat for many varieties of wildlife.

The ranch is located in the prized “Elk Hunt Area 7”, which is known as a trophy elk hunt area in Wyoming.  Centered around Laramie Peak, this eastern Wyoming mountain range is a great area in which to own a private big game hunting ranch.

The owner of Elk Haven Mountain Ranch qualifies for two elk landowner hunting tags each year.  Large 6– and 7-point bull elk can be harvested on the ranch.

The property is in an “open” mule deer hunt area, which allows the harvest of bucks only. Antelope hunting is also permitted.

For someone wanting a recreational property with good access, Elk Haven Mountain Ranch offers it all.  The area is still very pristine and the ranch is surrounded by working ranches and National Forest lands.  There are many areas on the ranch that allow for absolute privacy.
