Tree-covered hillsides with spectacular rock outcroppings and lush open park areas enhance the surrounding landscape and provide excellent wildlife habitat. WILDLIFE & RECREATIONAL AMENITIES
Evening Star Ranch offers some of the best elk hunting in the United States and large bulls ranging to 400-Class trophies frequent the area. Surrounded by large ranches and close to the National Forest with the spectacular Medicine Bow Mountain Range lying just to the east and the Sherman Mountain Range lying to the west, this property is teeming with wildlife and generates up to two individual landowner elk tags for Elk Hunt Area No. 6. In addition to outstanding elk hunting opportunities, mule deer hunting is also considered to be very good. Other wildlife in the area include pronghorn antelope, mountain lion, bear, eagles and many species of birds.
Nearby Area Attraction
The towering rocks of Vedauwoo (pronounced VEEda-voo), an Arapaho word meaning “earth born”) are located just a mile from the ranch. Ancient Indians believed that these magnificent rock formations in the Pole Mountain area of the Medicine Bow National Forest were created by playful spirits. Vedauwoo provides excellent backdrops for picnics, sight-seeing, hiking, mountain biking, camping, rock climbing, fishing, snow shoeing, and cross-country skiing. Vedauwoo is a great place for pictures of beautiful sunsets, unique formations and colors, flowers, and wildlife. For more information, visit www.laramie-tourism.org
