The Shell Basin Grazing Allotment is a forest service grazing permit located at Shell Reservoir and Adelaide Lake on the western side of the Bighorn Mountains.  Accessible from either Shell or Sheridan via Highway 14 to the north – or by way of Ten Sleep or Hyattville via the Alkali Road to the south.  This is a private allotment that offers excellent late summer grazing.  The permitted in/out dates are 7/11 – 9/20.  Water is spread all over the allotment – Shell Reservoir, Adelaide Lake, Lake Arden, Mud Lake, Shell Lake, Shell Creek, Porcupine Creek, Buckley Creek, Adelaide Creek, Moraine Creek, and the start of Shell Canal.
